More than this, though, a corporate V-Day party is an excellent way to create unity among your colleagues and employees, regardless of their current relationship status. Create A Life-Sized, Interactive Valentine
What employee wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to interact with a life-sized cutout of their boss, especially on Valentine’s Day. Begin by taking a head-to-toe, high-resolution picture of your CEO, manager, editor, or president, then commission a local print shop to create a cardboard effigy of your beloved superior. At the company party, place the cutout – including a speech bubble that says something along the lines of, “I just LOVE my employees” and decorated to taste in appropriate Valentine’s attire – next to the entrance, and encourage coworkers to write small love notes on heart-shaped post-it-notes and stick them to your boss’ cardboard likeness.
Set Up A Chocolate Tasting Station
No Valentine’s Day party would be complete without gratuitous quantities of delicious chocolate, and one of the best ways to give away lots of free chocolate is by setting up a Chocolate Tasting Station. To do this, buy anywhere from 5-15 different types of chocolate – whole bars, broken into pieces, usually work best – then display each type of chocolate in separate serving trays on an elegantly decorated table. Give each guest a “tasting sheet” (or cheat sheet) so they know how to talk about the different aromas, textures, and flavors, and also provide crackers, bread, or thin slices of apples to cleans your partygoers’ pallets between tastes.

To encourage participation, be sure to properly incentive your guests with awesome prizes for best and worst dating story – dinner for two at a fancy restaurant, maybe, or a bottle of expensive alcohol – and judge the winner by panel, by applause, or by secret ballot. You’ll be surprised how much closer you feel to your coworkers after hearing stories about their romantic lives!
Provide Opportunities To Dress Up
Parties are made infinitely more fun when costumes are involved, and Valentine’s Day parties are no exception. Encourage employees to wear red, pink, and white clothing to the company get-together, of course, but also include a table full of cheesy, wearable party favors, like plastic heart-shaped shades, red feathery boas, and red ink with stamps in the shape of puckered lips. If you’re feeling ambitious (and would like a way to embarrass your coworkers for months to come), set up a photo booth with a heart-filled backdrop, and don’t forget to include some cupid wings, arrows, and fake roses to inspire great romantic poses.
